Temecula Half Marathon & 5K

Sunday, November 04, 2012 at 7:30am

Location: Peltzer Farms : Temecula, California

Details:

DETAILS: Race up and down dirt country roads in vineyard territory, then raise your glass at a finish line wine tasting with live bluegrass music – all in support of sustainable food systems. Presented by Sandy Feet Events, the 2nd annual Temecula Half Marathon & 5K at Peltzer Farms is currently opened to 200 runners.

Runners can add beer or wine tasting to race registration for $10 which includes a signature glass. All proceeds from wine tasting and raffles will be matched and donated to Temecula Valley Slow Food.

Make a day of it in Temecula! Show your bib number at neighboring wineries for 10% off wine tasting.

The Temecula 5K course travels through a scenic back country roads, while the Half Marathon out-and-back takes runners past vineyards and farmland. Both hilly, the 5K is an easier course, while the Half Marathon offers a hard/medium-level (hilly hot) challenge. Remember, dirt roads are better on your knees. Temperatures are expected to be chilly at the start for this fall race, heating up to the 90s by midday.

We have an awesome selection of raffle prizes from our sponsors. Bring cash if you want to drink a little extra  or if you want to try your luck in the raffle. 100% of proceeds from raffle and wine tasting goes to Temecula Valley Slow Food.

PRE RACE CHECK IN will be at the Running Center (27548 Ynez Road, Temecula, CA 92591) on Saturday, November 3 from 9:30am – 1:30pm. It is optional to pre-check in for those of you who want to save some time on race morning. If you can’t make it then you can also pick up your packet on the morning of the race starting at 6:30am. Be sure to get there early enough to check in and get to the start line at your designated time. Team captains can pick up for the whole team and friends and family can also pick up for each other.

VOLUNTEERS: We need you! If you don’t want to run but still want to participate, we would love to have more volunteers! You can make new friends, join in the fun, enjoy live music and be a part of a great event. Volunteers are a very important part of Temecula Half Marathon & 5K, without you it would not be possible to host a fun and safe race. CLICK HERE
