The Temecula 5K course travels through scenic back country roads, while the Half Marathon out-and-back takes runners past vineyards and farmland. Both hilly, the 5K is an easier course, while the Half Marathon offers a hard (hilly and hot) challenge. Remember, dirt roads are better on your knees. Temperatures are expected to be chilly at the start for this fall race, heating up to the 90s by midday. Bring cash if you want to drink a little extra. Proceeds from wine tasting goes to the Temecula Valley Slow Food’s School Garden Project.
PRE RACE CHECK IN will be at Sports Authority (32413 Temecula Pkwy #400, Temecula, CA 92592) on Saturday, October 19th from 9:30am – 1:30pm. It is optional to pre-check in for those of you who want to save some time on race morning. If you can’t make it then you can also pick up your packet on the morning of the race starting at 6:30am. Be sure to get there early enough to check in and get to the start line at your designated time. Team captains can pick up for the whole team and friends and family can also pick up for each other.
VOLUNTEERS: We need you! If you don’t want to run but still want to participate, we would love to have more volunteers! You can make new friends, join in the fun, enjoy live music and be a part of a great event. Volunteers are a very important part of Temecula Half Marathon & 5K, without you it would not be possible to host a fun and safe race. For more info and the volunteer sign up form CLICK HERE.
COURSE MAPS:
Course is changing a bit, so new course map will be up soon!
The Temecula Half Marathon & 5K at Wilson Creek Winery will take place rain or shine. However, if conditions become unsafe, the race will be rescheduled. No refunds will be made. The Half Marathon is limited to 3.5 hours.
MORE INFO: Pets ARE NOT ALLOWED at Wilson Creek. Jogging strollers are OK in the 5K but NOT allowed in the Half Marathon, although part of the course is dirt so make sure your stroller is compatible with a dirt course. There will be plenty of water along the course, and restrooms as well but it will be hot so BE SURE to bring your own water too, especially for the Half Marathon if you are someone who needs a lot of water when running in the heat.AWARDS: Will be given to males and females 3 deep in each age category in increments of 10 (0-10, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+).We will have awesome recycled metal medals for Half Marathon Finishers as a way to celebrate your accomplishments. In an effort to be as “green” and as affordable (to all) as possible, there are no other bells and whistles – your entry gets you a race and shirt, and nothing made with cheap labor to throw away later. For people who want wine and souvenirs they are made locally, eco friendly, and available for a minimal charge at registration..THINGS HAPPEN: In the event of rain or any other wrench that gets thrown into our plan there will be a re-schedule date set and we are sorry but NO REFUNDS will be given. All event aspects are subject to change without notification. If you need to transfer from one distance to another; if you go up in price – you pay the difference; if you go down in price you lose the difference. If you for some reason you cannot attend the race you may transfer your entry to a friend, or lose your entry fee, again, sorry no refunds on any portion of entry fees.Looking for a place to stay? I have been trying to figure out the course-especially the beginning. La Serena has no trespassing signs posted a little ways past Baily’s. How does the course connect to Vino Way?
