NEW this year: 1/2K Resolution Boogie Victory Lap – a FREE option if you register for the 5K or 15K run or $10 if you just want to boogie into 2012! Dance, hop, skip, cartwheel, hula hoop, boogie, woogie – just have fun and be safe. No walking or running allowed unless you walk like an Egyptian. The sillier you dress the better! Prizes for worst and best dancer will be given – but that could be the same person.

New-er this year: The Resolution Run is going green-er this year. That means, no plastic bags, no throwaways. We will have real reusable bags, with real goodies in it. All of the coupons or ads will be virtual.

We work hard keep the Resolution Run’s impact low through Earth-friendly race management practices. Plus, the Resolution Run benefits San Diego Roots Sustainable Food Project – a double whammy, this race is good for the body and good for some karma points!

Also a perfect training race for the Carlsbad Half Marathon, the San Diego Resolution Run is in its sixth year, and attracted an excellent crowd last year! We will have tons of raffles from our incredible event sponsors.

Check out the fun from last year!

WANT TO VOLUNTEER? Be a part of the action: make new friends and have fun while helping out a great cause! The San Diego Resolution Run 5K & 15K needs volunteers to assist with the course, water stations, registration, check in, goody bags, pre-race check in, and more! All volunteers will receive a HUGE thank you hug or high five, a goody bag, breakfast and a t-shirt. Available shifts include Packet Pick Up Saturday morning January 7th and race morning on Sunday January 8th. We need you!

      1. Mike in Az says:

I commute back and fourth from Az to San Diego. I run Fiesta Island with my two black labs. We have run 5k’s before and would like to attend your event but there’s no mention if behaved dogs are allowed on the course. Maybe I missed the info on the website but I’d hate to sign up, show up and not be able to participate. lol. Could you let me know. Mike in Az (oh, and Sparky and Evo)

        • Rachel says:

          Hi Mike,
Due to the permit, we are not allowed to officially incorporate pets into our event. However I believe that dogs are allowed in Mission Bay park until 9am. After 9am they have to be off of the grass. Thank you for your question!

      2. Stacie says:

Is this a walker-friendly event? Do you have to finish the 15k in a specific amount of time?
        Thanks.

        • Rachel says:

          Hi Stacie,

Yes, the San Diego Resolution Run 5K and 15K is a walker friendly event! There is a 2 hour time limit but only for the Fiesta Island portion of the 15K run/walk, after 9am Fiesta Island will re-open to the public. At that point it will be just under 7 miles which most people should be able to walk in 2 hours. Hope to see you out there in January, let me know if you have any other questions!

      3. Russell says:

What are the rules regarding strollers? I’d like to bring my toddler if that is permitted.

      4. Joanne says:

Will this race be chip or tag timed? When I ran it two years ago it was not but I’m hoping it will be for 2012.

      5. Kaleena says:

I wanted to confirm if the 2 hour time limit up to Fiesta Island is still accurate for the 2012 race.

        • Rachel says:

Hi Kaleena, Yes due to the city permit we cannot have Fiesta Island closed down after 9am. However there is still much of the course left to run after you are done with Fiesta Island so the 2 hours should not be a problem even if you are walking a 15-20 min/mile pace. Thanks!

      6. Cruz says:

Maybe I missed this but, can I pick up my race packet on the race day? I’m driving from Baja, so I’m not sure If I could pick up my packet on Saturday.

        Thanks

      7. paul says:

do you award every finisher medal ? thanks!

        • Rachel says:

Only the top 3 male and female finishers in each age category will get a medal. But there are 5 year age categories so your chances are good :)

      8. Joanne says:

Can you tell me where the water stations will be located (mile / distance). When I ran it two years ago there was no information availalbe about this and I wasn’t able to take my gels when needed since by the time I saw the water station it was too late.

      9. Judy says:

are runners allowed to register this Saturday at Road Runner or is this date/location strictly for picking up packs?
