Grape Day 5K

Saturday, September 08, 2012 at 7:30am

Location: 100 N. Escondido Blvd. : Escondido, California

Details:

Grape Day 5K is a 5K fun run for everyone from elite runners to casual walkers, so bring the whole family out for a good time! Stick around for the Grape Day Parade and Festival featuring a finish line beer garden with world famous craft beer by Stone Brewing. Each runner over 21 will receive one FREE beer ticket for the Grape Day Festival after the race, a cool shirt, an even cooler schwag bag.

Once upon a time (i.e. the first half of the 20th century), Escondido celebrated their grape harvest and their city with Grape Day – a day full of free grapes and grape stomping. Grape Day is back in full force, complete with the free grapes, stomping of the grapes and general festival fun. Be part of the celebration by registering for the brand new Grape Day 5K.

The race course through historic Escondido finishes at the Grape Day Parade starting point. Runners can cool down while taking in Grape Day Parade sights and sounds, then refuel and have fun with family and friends at the Grape Day festival. The Grape Day 5K benefits the good works, locally and internationally, of the Escondido Sunrise Rotary including polio eradication, the YMCA, Boys and Girls Club and youth leadership programs.
