Projects we’re proud of:
- 2011 Junior Solar Sprint: This model solar car competition for middle school students put on by the San Diego Renewable Energy Society inspires kids from all areas to think outside the box. This event has not happened yet but we started raising funds at the 2011 San Diego Resolution Run 5K and 15K in January.
- Shepherds Junior Primary Solar Project: This 2008 project with help from Helvetic Solar provided electricity for Shepherds Junior Primary School in Arusha, Tanzania, increasing security with lighting, and allowing computer use.
- Sustainable volunteer hostel: Completed in 2009, the Arusha, Tanzania volunteer house was developed to help house volunteers working on local projects, and raise funds for energy projects in Arusha.
- Tumaini Children’s Village Biogas Conversion Tank: Going on in 2010, the biogas project will proved equipment for turning bio-waste into clean energy for cooking. Tumaini Children’s Village provides a family-style environment for orphaned children in Tanzania.
